Perez. WildCats. The Authority. Need more be said?

You guys may have already seen this floating around that wide, scary place you call the Internet - if you have, well, lucky you! The one-and-only George Perez gives us his take on many (and I mean MANY - these covers are crammed) of the powerplayers of the WildStorm universe as connecting covers for WildCats #19 and The Authority #18.

Ok - less talk, more art, right? Have at it.

Over all I’m really digging it, I’m not feeling a few costume redesigns that seem to be throwbacks to the old Wildstorm days.

I love the classic Hellstrike look. It’s been a long time since we’ve see it like that.

I’m glad Deathblow is sticking around and that Apollo is back. I’m hoping to see some WETWORKS characters in here at some point.

I’d love to see this BIGGGGGGGER.

[...] The Bleed (Wildstorm’s Official Blog) has just posted an image of the connecting covers for The Authority #18 and WildCats#19.  The beautiful connecting cover includes almost every major player in the Wildstorm universe.  The art is by George Perez, the only guy that can pull off covers with lots and lots of characters on one page. Bigggggger. Poster size, even.

I love it, but….the Wetworks gang is missing. Despite such a torrent of characters, without Dane, Grail or Mother-One (at least), it feels somehow incomplete to me.

    Howdy,
Glad everyone is digging the direction. We’re having a blast over here taking bits from the past as we look to the future.

And who said that was Hellstrike? :)

Keep your eyes peeled for all sorts of mystery characters popping in this year…and more explosive cover artists!

    Storm Out!

  9. Straight for the art | George Perez draws the Wildstorm Universe | Robot 6 @ Comic Book Resources – Covering Comic Book News and Entertainment says on :

[...] Here’s another item George Perez can check off his list of “comic book universes I need to draw” — the artist of New Teen Titans, Crisis on Infinite Earths and JLA/Avengers provides two interlocking covers for WildCats #19 and The Authority #18. [...]

    The Front Line
    The Last Chance
    The Final Defense
    The Only Hope

That’s the tag line from ‘99. It’ll be even more relevant in ‘09!

  11. Chris Striker says on :

There’s only one man I can see leading this army of SPB’s, the man, the legend… Ben Santini :D

  12. pham says on :

    @ Chris Striker

Good pick! I’d go with either him or Lynch.

  13. camera23 says on :

Awww, that is beautiful. I feel really sorry for whoever they’re all charging at :D

I absolutely hate Apollo’s hair. Maybe it’ll be a side effect of Warhol since some of it was missing when he came back?
