Given how accustomed I’d become to seeing Tony Moore’s undead in black and white from another popular zombie series he’d worked on, I got pretty excited when Ben and Michael passed these images over to me. Even in sketch form this cover is oh-so-perfectly disgusting!
From this week’s Victorian Undead #1.

Holy damn. Welcome to the WildStorm Universe, Mr. Mark Bagley! This widescreen shot of WSU kickassery will be spread across the covers of The Authority #19 and WildCats #20. Bagley lends his talents to more than 20 heroes - and special props to Trevor Scott, who hit it out of the park inking this one.
Pretty sweet, right?

I didn’t know how our trusty editors would follow up Mike Huddleston’s A+ run on Gen13 covers, but we can rest assured that our friends at WildStorm are taking good care of us, by hooking us up with Gen13 covers by Rafael Albuquerque and <drum roll, folks> - the always-wonderful Amanda Conner.
This one’s for Gen13 #34. Feast away.

Astro City covers never really need much of an introduction. A new piece by Alex Ross? Yes, please. Really love the color on this one - wow!
For Astro City: The Dark Age Book 4 #2.

In the last issue of Killapalooza (on sale this week), Adam Beechen and Trevor Hairsine’s band of super-powered assassins/heavy metal rockers look to bring down the house. (And by the looks of the cover, they literally bring Madison Square Garden down with them.)

Earlier this year, Adam Beechen and Tim Seeley promised their epic run on WildCats will includes hundreds of characters from the WildStorm universe. You guys chimed in with your guesses at who might show up in an earlier open thread, and George Perez’s amazing split cover gave you a hint at a few of the people who you’ll be seeing. Want another peek?

Here’s a shot from the upcoming WildCats #19. I’m really not sure how Tim’s able to draw that many characters in one splash - does he take time to eat? Sleep? But, wow. His pain is our gain, I guess.

Ok, this scene takes place in the past, so we know that the Great Machine made it out okay in the end. But, aren’t you interested in seeing where it’s going from here?

You guys may have already seen this floating around that wide, scary place you call the Internet - if you have, well, lucky you! The one-and-only George Perez gives us his take on many (and I mean MANY - these covers are crammed) of the powerplayers of the WildStorm universe as connecting covers for WildCats #19 and The Authority #18.
Ok - less talk, more art, right? Have at it.

The cover to Victorian Undead #3 shows us a zombie apocalypse going down right outside Holmes’ front door. I realize this is kind of an unfair tease. Before you come after me with your torches and pitchforks (or scolding comments) think of it this way: by the next time I’m previewing a cover on here, issue #1 will be out.

Mr. Ross’s certainly outdone himself this time, hasn’t he? He’s always painted some of the most realistic-looking humans (and superhumans) in comics, but I really love it when he gets the chance to do something, well, not-quite-so-human.
From the upcoming Astro City: Dark Age Book 4.
