Tony Harris does it again [Ex Machina #47 cover]

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

By Austin

You’ve got to love a long-running series that maintains such a consistent (and brilliant) cover aesthetic. (Preacher and Planetary are two that instantly come to mind.) Tony Harris knocks them out of the park issue after issue, and this one’s no different.

I’m sad to think that after this one we’ve only got three more left…

Here’s a great feature for you to read once you’ve finished paging through Ex Machina #45: BKV discusses the final arc of the series with Comic Book Resources.

Final arc? It hurts me a little inside every time I type that.

Exclusive Ex Machina #45 preview

Monday, September 14th, 2009

By Austin

The Great Machine worked his way out of quite a few precarious scenarios - even well before he entered politics. I’m not sure how he’ll get out of this one, though - I’m no doctor, but I don’t think there’s a machine he can just order to deliver a baby. At least not one readily available in a helicopter.

Ex Machina #45 hits stands on Wednesday.

It’s a clue to the answers behind Ex Machina, but that’s all I can tell you. You’ll have to read Ex Machina #44 tomorrow to find out exactly what it is - and why it’s important.

The final issue of Mysterius the Unfathomable is now on shelves, bringing Mysterius and Delfi’s first story to an end. (Blog@Newsarama has a nice tribute to this excellent series over here.) Miss out on Mysterius the first time? Look out for the trade paperback this spring.

Speaking of Newsarama covering great creator-owned titles, here’s an interview with Adam Beechen about his new series, Killapalooza.

The Examiner has a profile of Ex Machina’s (and so many amazing comics) Brian K. Vaughan.

Check out a preview of StarCraft #2 (on sale this week) over at the StarCraft II website.
